This process enables you to start your engine from outside the vehicle by simply pressing the unlock button on your key fob three times, providing convenience in all weather conditions. This is NOT an aftermarket kit but the activation of a feature your car is already equipped with, using official BMW coding methods.

The BMW option code 1CR refers to Remote Engine Start, a feature that allows you to start your vehicle’s engine from a distance using your key fob or the My BMW app. Key Features & Usage. The primary purpose of 1CR is cabin pre-conditioning—cooling or heating the interior to your last set temperature before you get in, or even have the engine prepared for any journey.

• Key Fob Activation: Press the BMW lock button three times within one second. This typically works within a range of 30–70 meters.
• App Activation: Use the My BMW App to start / stop the engine or select “Climatize Now” from anywhere with a cellular connection.
• Duration: The engine runs for a maximum of 15 minutes before automatically shutting off.
• Security: The vehicle remains locked and cannot be driven without the physical key or Digital Key present inside the cabin.
